Acquisition of skills and competencies
The management of organisations in a complex global environment requires a great number of skills. Besides a profound economic knowledge, competencies such as joined-up thinking, communication and presentation skills, knowledge of informatics, flexibility and tenacity are of great significance for successful activities on the international business stage.
In just four semesters (3rd to 6th semesters), the major in Business Administration offers you an internationally recognised, fundamental economics education. This will prepare you for the practical work in the management of private companies, public or non-profit organisations as well as for further studies at Master’s Level.
Holistic perspective
In addition to the business courses, we offer courses in economics and law that provide you with a fundamental understanding of international economic affairs. It is important to us to develop your understanding for the societal, political, ecological and ethical contexts of business management. In this way, we pursue a holistic perspective in the major in Business Administration, taking various aspects of economics into account.
Practical relevance
Our programme is distinguished by the high level of practical relevance offered by the major in Business Administration: the courses are designed to develop your ability to utilise scientific understanding in practical situations. In the course of your studies, you complete a Capstone Project in which a consulting team made up of students develops a proposal for a solution to a relevant problem for a company, thus providing an opportunity to apply your knowledge in a practical situation.
International orientation
We are also internationally oriented: with our network of attractive partner universities, you have the opportunity to gain international experience during an exchange semester. The internationally oriented, English-language courses in your core studies and areas of concentration and language courses in the Contextual Studies component also allow you to develop your knowledge of intercultural issues and communication skills in a variety of ways.
